Supporting ECM

The expERIEnce Children’s Museum offers a variety of benefits to companies who want to support ECM and reward their employees and customers. Benefits include free access to the Museum, discounts to programs, inclusion in marketing efforts, and recognition of their giving.

Corporate Volunteers

Corporate volunteers at ECM make an investment in the education and development of children’s lives, while gaining hands-on team building and unique museum experiences. Volunteers participate in a diverse variety of programs and special events, highlighting their organization’s dedication to philanthropy and community support.

 EITC Tax Credit

Did you know that the expERIEnce Children’s Museum served 1,492 individuals during free Mobile Museum outreaches in our community? By giving a gift via the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, companies have an opportunity to support the Museum’s impactful work while receiving tax benefits.

ETIC is a Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) program that provides state tax credits to eligible businesses for charitable contributions made to the expERIEnce Children’s Museum

Any business authorized to do business in Pennsylvania that is subject to one or more of the below taxes is eligible for EITC tax credits:

  • Personal Income Tax
  • Capital Stock/Foreign Franchise Tax
  • Corporate Net Income Tax
  • Bank Shares Tax
  • Title Insurance & Trust Company Shares Tax
  • Insurance Premium Tax (excluding surplus lines, unauthorized, domestic/foreign marine)
  • Mutual Thrift Tax
  • Malt Beverage Tax
  • Retaliatory Fees under section 212 of the Insurance Company Law of 1921

Visit the PA DCED website for EITC Guidelines and access to DCED’s electronic Single Application system to apply by for EITC. Once you apply and are approved by DCED, make your contribution to Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh within 60 days.

Tax credits may be applied against the tax liability of a business for the tax year in which the contribution was made. Tax credits equal to 75% of your contribution up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year; can be increased to 90% of your contribution, if your business agrees to provide the same amount for two consecutive tax years.
