The new Children’s Museum is a common ground where children and families from different economic, social, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds gather under one roof to create, explore, imagine, and play with one another.

Code of Conduct

We ask our visitors to agree to the following code of conduct:

  • Be kind – Share the space by being respectful and courteous to others around you. Please do not touch or verbally reprimand a child from another family.
    Watch your children – Provide adult supervision to your children at all times during your visit.
  • Treat things well – Use equipment and exhibits safely and appropriately so that all museum guests can enjoy them.
  • Assume good intentions – Model positive behaviors and understand that sometimes another child’s play may unintentionally interfere with your child’s play.
  • We are here to help! – Contact ECM staff immediately with any questions, needs, or concerns.

All guests must comply with safety policies and staff instructions. We expect guests to respect ECM staff and other visitors. The expERIEnce Children’s Museum will not tolerate inappropriate behavior or abusive, demeaning, foul, or harassing language. Failure to comply with these policies may result in immediate removal from property and/or revocation of membership without refund.

  • Erie Insurance graciously allows us to use their free parking lot directly across from the museum on French Street.
  • Metered Street parking is available on the North end of French Street, 4th  Street, State Street, around Perry Square along North and South Park Row, and Peach Street.
  • Metered lot parking is accessible on the corner of 3rd and French Street.
  • Metered parking can be paid using quarters or via the MeterEZ mobile parking app.
  • Garage parking is available on East 3rd St. You can find all parking garages and their rate through the Erie Parking Authority.

Yes. All guests aged 1 and older will pay admission. Visit our Hours & Admission. Little ones, under 1, and members receive free general admission.

Members and paying guests are encouraged to reserve their tickets online. To purchase your tickets, visit our Tickets page.

Yes, there is limited seating along with a vending machine with healthy snacks and drinks the 2nd floor of the Museum.

If guests are looking to purchase more substantial meals, we suggest visiting one of our neighborhood vendors before or after your visit.

Only after-hour rentals are available in Phase I of the new museum. Rent an evening for a birthday, team building exercise, or simply time at the museum without anyone else!

Birthday party classrooms, and alternative birthday party options, will be available in Phase II of the museum in 2024.
